Our Mission

Why Mentor?
Beyond building social capital, mentorship offers a safe haven, leadership development, best life practices, encourages civic mindset, unlocks access to resources, networks, role models, and more.

Personal & Emotional Development
We work to build self-esteem and confidence, especially for disadvantaged and at-risk youth. Navigate challenges and setbacks. Teach important life skills, such as perseverance and effective communication.
Academic and Career Success
Mentored students are more likely to stay in school, achieve higher grades and realize higher rates of college enrollment. Development of essential skills: time management; critical thinking; and networking.
Positive Surroundings
Mentored youth are less likely to engage in risky behaviors, substance abuse, or violence. They become better at managing conflict and building quality relationships.
Program Design

1:1 Mentoring
Young men are paired with mentors based on shared interests, shared goals, and the opportunity for diverse learning. Mentees get to learn from real-life experiences of succesful business and community leaders.
STEM
Our organization has a long-standing partnership with G3 Robotics and Drones For Good Atlanta and annually hosts STEM and drone building competitions exposing youth to the fields of aviation, engineering, gaming, and robotics. Since 2017, we've sponsored over 400 youth to participate in various STEM events.

Group
Our group mentoring is a structured process that involves regular meetings where the members share their experiences, challenges, and successes. Mentors provide guidance, feedback, and support, but the group dynamics play a crucial role in shaping the development of the individuals.
Our life-long mission is to address the challenges that young men are confronted with daily. Through completion of the Bridge Builders Academy, young men will be prepared to serve, lead, thrive and achieve in their community and society.
